TONY AYALA FOR
NORWALK CITY COUNCIL
Norwalk is built on the strength of our families, and I’m committed to continuing that tradition.

While serving as Mayor,
I initiated three key initiatives:
Safeguarding Teachers
Safeguarding teachers and students through the city’s first comprehensive active shooter plan, connecting schools with all law enforcement agencies serving Norwalk to keep schools and public spaces safe.
A New Approach
A new approach supporting multigenerational households, created by the absence of affordable housing, with services for childcare, senior nutrition, unemployment, teen activities, and youth diversion.
A Public/Private Partnership
A public/private partnership for employment assistance for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities and at-risk youth to learn valuable job skills while being paid. On the City Council I’ve helped make Norwalk safer through increased investment in Deputies, Public Safety Officers, Neighborhood Watch and quadrant-based community policing that reduced Part 1 crime by 22% in just a few years.
Moving forward, Norwalk must plan now to ease the impact of traffic, parking, and state-mandated housing growth required by the State of California resulting in 1,000 units annually being built for the next five years with prices higher than most residents can afford.

Dear Neighbor,
As your voice at city hall, I have initiated and supported policies that have reduced crime, provided investment into our community, and expanded services for our most vulnerable. I feel that my 30 years of service as an employee with the City of Norwalk has helped me to better understand and serve the needs of this community.
My background is in government, as I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in public administration. My experience includes serving as a member of the Norwalk city council. I am a lifelong resident of Norwalk where my wife Karen and I have raised our two children. I’m proud of my track record of being active in our community through various organizations and continue to volunteer for several non-profits and mentor young college students in my spare time.
I am proud of what I have accomplished and am ready to continue the fight for a better Norwalk.
Sincerely,
Tony Ayala
